Bull Elk Archery Hunts

Winner of the 2007 Paintrock Photo Contest, Guide and Photographer: Chris Cormell, Hunter: Scott Soder

We will be hunting in the Wind River Mountains northeast of Jackson Hole, Wyoming at the south end of the Absaroka range. The free roaming elk of the area have been steadily increasing their numbers, with one of the healthiest bull to cow ratios in the state.

By listening and locating the elk we patiently close the distance before they find their secluded bedding grounds. A unique blend of patience, stealth and a steady arrow combined with experienced calling techniques and luck decides the outcome of the unfolding drama.

Camps

Camp is comfortable so you can concentrate on your hunt. Clients enjoy sleeping in wall tents with cots and stoves. Home style meals are prepared by your full time cook.  The menu is cowboy five star and accommodations second to none.

Guides

We hire only professionally licensed guides who are experienced horsemen and hunters. Our clients have complimented our guides for being hard working, knowledgeable and affable.

Horses

We own a super gentle string of horses and mules. They are rugged mountain stock that will get us where the elk live!...and back.

Equipment

The equipment we use is western tack, well maintained, practical and field tested.

About Your Outfitter...

Todd Jones #BG226, Licensed Professional Outfitter and Guide, (past Vice President of the Wyoming Outfitters and Guides Association), has the knowledge, experience and resources to provide you a genuine hunting opportunity. Todd is a seasoned hunter himself. He lives for the challenge of calling a Rutting Bull Elk within yards of his fellow hunter. Our Hunting/Guiding Philosophy is all about sharing experiences and memories. The risk, the challenge, the frustrations and the successes are what makes a true hunt. Success means many things to many hunters. Firearm hunters typically feel successful when getting close enough for a shot after a well planned stalk. Most of our hunters get the experience of several close encounters with a good elk. Those that prepare mentally, physically and take the time to practice religiously will increase their odds markedly. Naturally the focus is on the hunt, if you want to know our harvest rate I will be happy visit with you.
